Oeding (Südlohn) (D):

The borough (Gemeinde) Südlohn is situated in the western Münsterland in western Germany and is part of the Borken District in the Province (Regierungsbezirk) of Münster.
Südlohn consists of two parts: Südlohn and Oeding.

The actual border between the German Westmünsterland and the neighboring Dutch Gelderland province is an old one and exists in its present form since 1766. There are quite a few historic border-stones scattered around.

Along the local road L558 we are approaching the border coming from Südlohn.

Directly at the border we find the German place-name indicator and a border-stone. The welcome-sign 'Netherlands' can be found on the other side of the road (see next photo)
