(xx) - B258

On the map on the left, you can see that the German National Road B258 crosses Belgian territory for 2 miles without connecting to the rest of the Belgian road-network. The traveller won't even notice as there are no signs indicating the border-crossing, the only suspicous thing is a small sign refering to a nature reserve in French and German.
There is another border line on the map: the railway track of the old
Vennbahn.
The Vennbahn - railway connects Raeren (Belgium, yet German speaking) to Roetgen (Germany) and Montjoie (Germany) and ends in Robertville (Belgium, French speaking)
The Vennbahn (inkl. the railway track and the railways stations) are Belgian territory, even in Germany, hence strictly speaking all German territory west of the railway is an exklave.
  B 258 Konzen
The southern end of the road: the railway track of the Vennbahn is the borderline here. Official Belgian border sign/national plate cannot be found, yet a few hundred yards down the road a street sign post indicating max. speed 90 km/h and a little additional board "Belgium".
90 km / h by the way is the max. speed limit in Belgium outside the built-up area.
  B 258 Fringshaus Schild
The northern access of the road, again a street board sign post can be spotted which is not of German origin/production.
  B 258 Fringshaus
The B258 from the north with the Fringshouse on the right side. This house incl. restaurant is on Belgian territory, however if the residents want to go to the rest of Belgium, they have to ride via the German road network
.
  B 258 Belgofritz
A side path just off Lamersdorf close to the intersection with the B 258. The Belgian border is the left side of the road: the snackbar "Belgofritz" is on Belgian ground like the Fringshouse a few hundred yards down the road.
B 258:

Situation between Roetgen (D) and Monschau (D), and an advertisement for the Belgian restaurant 'Fringshaus'.
Interestingly the Fringshouse has a Belgian zip-code, yet connects to the German phone network. (BK)
